A local group came together to try to preserve a significant piece of village history although the building was in very poor shape as well as create a community center. The building is somewhat unique because although it is in the village core, the site included a significant amount of farmland with the potential for community gardens, recreation and outdoor concerts. In search of an appropriate use a much needed child care center will become the prime tenant on the main floor along with a small cafe. The second floor becomes two apartments and the ground floor a community center adjacent to the outdoor spaces. A small addition was required at the back and three porches are being rebuilt and extended.
